When my high school classmates find me on this web site, they won’t be surprised. My nickname back then was “Preacher.” Maybe the one who gave it to me (was it Kelly?) was inspired, but in any event a preacher is what I am today.

I’m the minister at the Palo Alto Church of Christ, the church that started this weblog, and I’m also the author of the Reflections that you can find here. (Archives can be found in the Reflections category.)

Like my fellow contributors to the Christian Worldview from Silicon Valley site, I am a lover of words and a lover of the Word, Jesus, and I get to combine those by writing a sermon almost every week. Much of the rest of my writing is in the form of song lyrics, but I have also published a book of devotional thoughts called Touched By God, have written the book and lyrics for an Easter musical (music by the brilliant Gary Dugan), and am working on a second musical and another book.

Not all of my time is spent in front of my Mac, however. I love to walk (or just hang out) with my wife of more than 35 years, I’ve almost never met a golf course I didn’t like (and I’ve met a lot of them), and I thoroughly enjoy reading, thinking, teaching, learning and preaching.

My hope is that you will find the posts on this blog stimulating, inspiring, and thought provoking, and that in some way they will deepen your love for God and your love for God’s children.

Every blessing!
