Coming Up for Air

by WCB

Cough! Cough! Cough! GASP!!

That’s how I feel about now. And, if someone else can think of a better way of expressing the sounds of coming up for air, please let me know.

For the past couple of months, SamW has been a slave driver. Uncharacteristic of many such drivers, he has no whip. He’s right down here in the trenches with me. We have been trying to get a project done by an unbending deadline.

We did it. But, in the end, as hard as we worked and planned in advance, it still took more than 40 hours of work in less than 3 days with time out for worshiping God in the middle on Sunday.

Exhausted, to say the least. Pooped comes to mine. Whooped. Spent. Bushed. Tuckered out.

But, we have come up from air.

About three months ago a company I work for had a very unfortunate turn of events, out of their control. SamW had someone he had been counting on back at a critical time.

The two of us were licking our wounds over lunch when we had met to share prayer concerns and encourage each other in the faith.

Wait a minute. We were doing a God thing and, don’t you know it, God was doing His thing. Sam needed a worker just about the time my company had to cut back on salaries and such.

Coincidence or Godincidence?

How about sharing a story of just when you thought things couldn’t get worse, they did. But, then over prayer and encouragement time with a Christian friend, God kept His promise of Romans 8:28.
