How much did Jesus weigh?

That’s NOT where I am heading with this post.
The Belew family just had an addition – 5lb 11oz Mia Mei joined us this past Sunday at 2:58pm. Great details, eh? From the father (not grandfather) no less.
The little peanut is no bigger than a peanut. I got more kid for my money with my boys, 30-40% bigger than their little sister when they were born.
My boys, knowing I like peanut M & Ms, once bought me a stuffed peanut M & M that is bigger than our new little girl. We have stuffed animals in her room that she will be looking up to for at least a year, maybe longer.
Tiny, fragile, utterly dependent on her parents, totally incapable of caring for herself, at the mercy of those around her…
The situation of our little girl got me to wondering more earnestly what it was like for Jesus when he was born. How much did he weigh? How long/tall was he (Mia was 18 inches)? Did he really take on such a helpless condition? What if?
Indeed God did so love us that He gave His only son.
My bet is Jesus was just like our little Mia, but the angels were on immediate standby. Maybe I am wrong.
In any event, I marvel at just how much God loved us, how much he continue to love us and it makes me wonder to what extent I would go to love others.
I have some serious introspection ahead of me to do.

A great question, Mr. B., and one that is worthy of our time, energy and (as you say) introspection.
Love is in the air around me, because last night I reread a very touching part of A Severe Mercy that demonstrated an amazingly deep love, today at a meeting I heard two great stories of the power of Christian love, then I talked with a sister at some length about the same topic (and shared one of the stories with her), and then I read your post.
And that is a good thing, because love is truly what it is all about…
